What to Expect
Full itinerary*
The itinerary may be subject to minor adjustments depending on local conditions, timing and operational requirements.

Day 1 — Arrival in Asmara
Arrival in Asmara and welcome by your local guide. We transfer to the hotel and settle into Eritrea’s elegant capital, where palm-lined boulevards, cafés, and striking modernist architecture offer a first glimpse into the country’s unique atmosphere.

Depending on arrival time, we ease into the journey with a first look at the city.

Overnight in Asmara.

Day 2 — Asmara, Frozen in Time
Today we explore Asmara, one of Africa’s most distinctive capitals. We wander through its art deco streets, old cinemas, markets, cafés, and historic landmarks, discovering a city where time seems to have paused.

Asmara reveals itself slowly — through architecture, daily rituals, and a rare sense of calm.

Overnight in Asmara.

Day 3 — Village Life & Coffee Ceremony
We leave the city for a deeper glimpse into everyday Eritrean life. In a quiet village setting, we experience a slower rhythm and take part in a traditional coffee ceremony — one of the country’s most meaningful social rituals.

A day of simple encounters, quiet landscapes, and cultural depth before returning to the capital.

Overnight in Asmara.

Day 4 — Keren
We drive to Keren, one of Eritrea’s most vibrant and character-filled towns. Known for its lively markets and strong traditions, Keren offers a different side of the country — more dynamic, more rural, and deeply rooted in local life.

We take time to explore the town and soak in its unique atmosphere.

Overnight in Keren.

Day 5 — Down to Massawa
Today we leave the highlands behind and descend toward the Red Sea coast, arriving in Massawa — a city of coral-stone buildings, faded grandeur, and deep historical layers. Its Ottoman and Italian influences, humid air, and slower rhythm create a completely different atmosphere from the plateau.

We explore the old town and settle into the mood of this remarkable port city.

Overnight in Massawa.

Day 6 — Into the Dahlak Archipelago
We head out by boat into the Dahlak Archipelago, where scattered islands, turquoise waters, and total stillness create one of Eritrea’s most remote and beautiful experiences.

Far from the mainland, we reach an uninhabited island and set up camp in a setting defined by sea, sky, and silence.

Overnight camping in the Dahlak Archipelago.

Day 7 — Return to Asmara & Departure
A slow morning by the sea, with time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings before returning by boat to the mainland.

Later, we make our way back up to Asmara, climbing once again from the coast to the cool highlands, before heading to the airport for your late departure.

You leave having experienced Eritrea through the elegance of Asmara, the warmth of its villages, the energy of Keren, the faded beauty of Massawa, and the silence of the Dahlak islands.
